Corn production is forecast at 12.9 billion bushels, down 1 percent from last month but 7 percent higher than 2008. Based on conditions as of November 1, yields are expected to average 162.9 bushels per acre, down 1.3 bushels from October but 9.0 bushels above last year.

Corn production is forecast 97 million bushels lower with a 1.3-bushel-per-acre reduction in the forecast yield. U.S. corn exports are projected 50 million bushels lower reflecting the slow pace of sales and shipments in recent weeks and prospects for increased competition from larger Black Sea corn and wheat supplies. U.S. corn ending stocks are projected down 47 million bushels.

U.S. corn production projected up 820 million bushels from 2008. Iowa's corn crop projected up 254 million bushels.

Corn percent harvested grew to 37%. The five-year average is 82%. North Dakota is the furthest behind. North Carolina is done.

U.S. Average: 3.54. Texas and North Carolina have the highest prices and South Dakota and North Dakota have the lowest.

Corn harvest is 46% behind the 5-year average. Illinois is 67% behind; Iowa 49% behind; Indiana 47% behind. Texas and North Carolina are only 2% behind.
