The US Dollar Index fell to a new low for the move on Monday, but
posted an outside week higher on the charts. It will be interesting to
see if we get any follow through strength in the Dollar next week.

Yesterday's action consisted of mostly lack of selling in the front months. An open and hold above $83.57 this morning will keep the market supported with bounces most likely running into resistance early at $84.15.

The story in this cattle market is clear. We all know beef demand will bottom
and improve at some point in the future. The arguments come on both
“the when of the rebound” and “strength level of the rebound”.

Feeder cattle were supported by the live futures on Thursday, but just
managed to hold their head above water, posting very modest gains. Cash
trade continues to hold near recent levels, and appear capable of
showing some index improvement over the next few days.

A late round of position-squaring by local traders Thursday allowed the
Chicago Mercantile Exchange pit-traded live cattle market to end mostly
higher.
