Two packages of chilled beef containing spinal columns have led the Japanese government to suspend beef imports from a U.S. plant according to Manufacturing.net.
The spinal columns, a risk material for mad cow disease, were found in an inspection of 28 of the 810 packages shipped to the Tokyo port

On Monday Korea thwarted Canada’s efforts to have the WTO rule on the ban on Canadian beef imports according to the Joong Ang Daily.
Korea imposed the ban six years ago. The latest request to lift the ban was made on April 9.
Korea’s was the fourth largest beef export market for Canada in 2003
