Cattle Weekly Summary Report for the week ending 11/03/09
Receipts This Week: 3,902 Last Week: 4,521 Year ago: 4,852
Compared to last week’s sale, steer calves sold fully steady, heifer
calves sold steady to weak with moderate demand for calves. Yearling
steers sold steady to 1.00 higher, yearling heifers sold steady with
moderate demand for yearlings. Slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 higher.
Slaughter bulls sold steady.
This week’s supply included 7% slaughter cows, 2% slaughter bulls, less
than 1% replacements and 91% feeder cattle. The feeder supply consisted of
54% steers, 13% bulls and 33% heifers. Steers, bulls and heifers over 600
lbs totaled 54% of feeder cattle.
