SAO PAULO (Dow Jones)--Brazil exported 228.7 million liters of ethanol to world markets in November, down from the 328.4 million liters in October and 336.6 million liters shipped in September, the Foreign Trade Ministry said Monday.
By comparison, Brazil shipped 291.7 million liters of ethanol overseas in November 2006.
Ever since the U.S. slowed imports of Brazilian ethanol, total export volume has been declining. The U.S. is getting much of its ethanol from U.S. corn growers.
Average prices paid per 1,000 liters of Brazilian ethanol declined in November to $388.40 compared to October prices of $396.60, FOB.
Last year, ethanol prices were around $482.90 per 1,000 liters.
Brazil is the world's No. 1 exporter of ethanol.
