Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:30 PM
Today’s Reported Sales Volume: 2,000
Today’s Estimated Sales Volume: 5,500
Trading was light in Nebraska and Colorado with light to moderate demand. Compared
to Wednesday dressed clean up sales sold steady at 135.00. Few, live sales off of
next week’s show list sold at 88.00 in Colorado. Trade was mostly inactive in all
other feeding regions. Thursday afternoon boxed beef cutout values weak on light to
moderate demand and moderate offerings. Choice cutout closed down .63 at 141.16 and
Select down .41 at 136.00 with 284 total loads sold. Estimated cattle slaughter for
Thursday was reported at 126,000 head. The hide and offal value from a typical
slaughter steer for today was estimated at 8.38 per cwt live, up 0.03 when compared
to Wednesday's value.
Note: prices are based on net weights FOB the feedlot after a 3-4% shrink
unless otherwise noted. Dressed prices based on hot carcass weights delivered
to the plant.

and volume collected from feedlots or their representatives cooperating
on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and
more frequently during active trading periods.
