Broiler/Fryer: Daily National Broiler Market at-a-Glance
Trade sentiment was cautiously steady to barely steady in all
areas. Retail demand was light to moderate, often good for
active ads. Food service was light to instances moderate, best
into fast food channels. Supplies of all sizes were at least
sufficient to satisfy trade needs. Floor stocks were in a full
range. In the parts structure, movement was fair for early week
trading. Breast items were sufficient with boneless skinless
fully adequate to ample. Dark meat items were adequate to
readily available, and wings were balanced to instances tight.
In production areas live supplies were moderate. Weights were
mostly desirable to light.
The Composite Weighted Average price for 07/06/09 was 85.38
compared to 86.00 a week earlier, and 86.34 a year ago.
