Broiler/Fryer: Daily National Broiler Market at-a-Glance
Trade sentiment was steady in the West, barely steady to weak
elsewhere. Retail and food service demand was slow to moderate,
mostly light to fair for early week trading. Supplies of all sizes
were adequate to fully adequate to satisfy trade needs. Floor stocks
were in a full range. In the parts structure, movement was light to
fair. Breast items were mostly sufficient, but boneless skinless was
fully adequate to ample. Dark meat items were closely balanced to
readily available, and wings were balanced to at least sufficient.
In production areas live supplies were moderate. Weights were mostly
desirable.
The Composite Weighted Average price for 07/13/09 was 84.05
compared to 85.38 a week earlier, and 86.22 a year ago.
