HOUSTON (Dow Jones)--The Coast Guard says a freighter hauling petroleum coke and carrying 22 people is stranded about 90 miles southeast of Galveston, Texas in the path of Hurricane Ike.
The freighter is so far offshore that only way to help the crew might be to send in helicopters, but the strong winds make that possibility difficult.
The Coast Guard hasn't unveiled its plan to rescue the crew as yet.
