Wheat: Net sales of 449,400 metric tons were down 19 percent from the previous week and 9 percent from prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Mexico (59,600 MT), Taiwan (54,300 MT), the Philippines (48,800 MT), Panama (45,200 MT, including 2,000 MT switched from Guatemala), Italy (38,500 MT), unknown destinations (34,700 MT), Nigeria (32,500 MT), and Japan (30,400 MT). Decreases were reported for Bolivia (9,400 MT) and Guatemala (2,000 MT). Exports of 595,900 MT--a marketing-year high-- were up 32 percent from the previous week and 39 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Japan (109,200 MT), Peru (85,000 MT), Egypt (57,700 MT), South Korea (51,200 MT), the Philippines (48,800 MT), and Venezuela (45,900 MT).
Corn: Net sales of 965,600 MT were reported for South Korea (268,300 MT), Japan (250,700 MT, including 97,000 MT switched for unknown destinations), Taiwan (226,000 MT), Mexico (160,300 MT), the Dominican Republic (32,200 MT), Peru (31,000 MT, including 22,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Venezuela (26,700 MT). Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (141,500 MT) and Guatemala (7,200 MT). Optional origin sales of 55,000 MT for delivery in 2009/10 were for South Korea. Exports of 1,162,500 MT were primary to Japan (448,100 MT), Mexico (143,500 MT), South Korea (116,100 MT), Egypt (109,900 MT), Taiwan (88,400 MT), Peru (46,000 MT), and Venezuela (27,800 MT).
Barley: Net sales of 6,600 MT were for Canada. Exports of 200 MT were for Mexico.
Sorghum: Net sales of 43,800 MT were primarily for Japan (33,700 MT, including 10,600 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Mexico (16,100 MT, including decreases of 1,400 MT). Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (6,100 MT). Exports of 89,600 MT were for Mexico (78,900 MT) and Japan (10,700 MT).
Rice: Net sales of 45,800 MT were down 41 percent from the previous week and 49 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Nicaragua (15,000 MT), Japan (13,000 MT), El Salvador (6,100 MT), Mexico (4,900 MT), and Canada (3,500 MT). Decreases were reported for Jordan (4,500 MT). Exports of 40,600 MT were down 6 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Mexico (22,600 MT), Ghana (6,700 MT), Canada (2,700 MT), Saudi Arabia (1,900 MT), and Honduras (1,800 MT).
Soybeans: Net sales of 489,400 MT for the 2009/10 marketing year (which began Sept. 1) were primarily for China (463,400 MT, including 55,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (34,200 MT), Malaysia (23,600 MT, including 15,200 MT switched from unknown destinations), Turkey (20,000 MT), and Indonesia (10,100 MT). Net sales of 215,000 MT for 2010/11 delivery were for South Korea. Exports of 263,800 MT were primarily to China (164,400 MT), Mexico (29,100 MT), Japan (22,900 MT), Malaysia (22,200 MT), and Egypt (9,300 MT).
Soybean Cake and Meal: Net sales of 42,900 MT resulted as increases for Mexico (19,300 MT), the Dominican Republic (8,000 MT), Canada (6,000 MT), and Panama (4,700 MT, switched from Guatemala), were partially offset by decreases for Guatemala (9,600 MT) and the French West Indies (4,700 MT). Net sales of 72,200 MT for delivery in 2009/10 were mainly for the Philippines (40,500 MT), Colombia (8,000 MT), and Canada (6,000 MT). Exports of 73,800 MT were up 76 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Mexico (28,400 MT), Canada (23,400 MT), Panama (4,400 MT), and El Salvador (4,300 MT).
Soybean Oil: Net sales of 29,900 MT were primarily for Peru (18,300 MT), Mexico (4,900 MT), and Algeria (4,500 MT). Net sales reductions of 16,900 MT for delivery in 2009/10 resulted as increases for Mexico (1,600 MT), Colombia (800 MT), and the Dominican Republic (800 MT), were more than offset by decreases for unknown destinations (20,000 MT). Exports of 1,700 MT were down 93 percent from the previous week and 94 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Canada (900 MT), Mexico (600 MT), and the Dominican Republic (100 MT).
Cotton: Net Upland sales of 71,400 running bales were down 49 percent from the previous week and 60 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Turkey (16,000 RB), China (12,600 RB, including 1,800 RB switched from Taiwan), Mexico (9,100 RB), Indonesia (8,000 RB), Colombia (6,000 RB), and South Korea (5,500 RB). Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (800 RB) and Vietnam (200 RB). Net sales of 1,400 RB for delivery in 2010/11 were for Mexico. Exports of 118,700 RB were down 48 percent from the previous week and 34 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Mexico (21,700 RB), China (19,700 RB), Turkey (18,800 RB), Indonesia (15,300 RB), Bangladesh (11,400 RB), and Thailand (7,500 RB). Net American Pima sales of 9,600 RB were up 74 percent from the previous week and 85 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were primarily for China (3,300 RB), Pakistan (2,600 RB), and Japan (1,400 RB). Exports of 5,300 RB were down 50 percent from the previous week and 58 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were India (1,600 RB), China (1,600 RB), and Pakistan (800 RB).
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 217,100 pieces were down 30 percent from the previous week and 36 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hides sales of 214,100 pieces were primary for China (83,500 pieces), Taiwan (47,100 pieces), South Korea (41,100 pieces), Mexico (12,100 pieces), and Japan (10,600 pieces). Exports of 456,800 pieces were up 40 percent from the previous week, but down 6 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 452,700 pieces were primarily to China (182,100 pieces), South Korea (119,300 pieces), Taiwan (39,400 pieces), Thailand (35,900 pieces), Hong Kong (21,600 pieces), and Mexico (20,400 pieces).
Net sales of 143,600 wet blues were up 87 percent from the previous week and 66 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (68,700 unsplit and 4,100 grain splits), Italy (38,300 unsplit), South Korea (25,100 unsplit), and Mexico (2,900 grain splits). Exports of 144,700 hides were up 21 percent from the previous week and 37 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (30,100 unsplit and 9,300 grain splits), Mexico (24,800 grain splits and 1,000 unsplit), Vietnam (22,900 unsplit), and Italy (20,600 unsplit and 2,000 grain splits). Net sales of splits totaling 1,821,100 pounds resulted as increases for China (1,474,600 pounds), South Korea (275,100 pounds), and Taiwan (88,000 pounds), were partially offset by decreases for Hong Kong (8,600 pounds) and Mexico (8,000 pounds). Exports of 1,065,000 pounds--a marketing-year high-- were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were China (456,600 pounds), South Korea (396,900 pounds), and Hong Kong (211,400 pounds).
Beef: Net sales of 15,100 MT were primarily for Vietnam (3,700 MT), Mexico (2,300 MT), Canada (2,000 MT), and Hong Kong (2,000 MT). Exports of 8,700 MT were mainly to Mexico (3,100 MT), Canada (1,400 MT), Japan (1,300 MT), and Vietnam (800 MT).
