Weekly East River South Dakota Hay Market
All prices per ton, unless noted, FOB the stack.
Compared to last week all classes of hay steady. Straw 5.00-10.00
higher. Demand remains good for higher quality hay. Alfalfa
pellets steady. Grinding quality alfalfa and grass in plentiful
supply. Straw remains in strong demand due to lack of cornstalks.
Sales limited again this week due to wet weather.
Alfalfa: Large squares: Fair 75.00-80.00.
Large rounds: Fair 90.00 del., Utility 50.00.
Sun-cured Alfalfa pellets: 17 percent 155.00, 15 percent 140.00.
Mixed Alfalfa/Grass: No reported sales.
Grass: Large rounds: Fair 60.00.
Bedding: Small Squares 150.00 per ton del.
Large Squares 84.00 del.
Bean Straw-Large Rounds 50.00 del.
