With Taco Bell’s Power Cantina menu and many other fast food giants packing in extra protein, Arby’s was bound to catch on. With a celebrity voice like Ving Rhames to narrate their commercials, Arby’s is all-in on this pro-protein campaign.
Arby’s celebrates its 50th anniversary and this couldn’t come at a better time for them. At the beginning of the month Consumer Reports placed Arby’s in the bottom five of its sandwich and subs category (with a score of 7.3, 7.0 being the lowest).
That won’t stop Arby’s from releasing its new Mega Meat Stacks sandwiches, with choices of turkey, roast beef, bacon, ham, turkey and corned beef in a trio for $5.49.
Like Taco Bell’s new menu, these sandwiches weigh in with up to 54 grams of protein, which is a 70% increase from existing sandwiches.
PR Newswire ran a list of the new sandwiches earlier this month:
- Triple Stack – turkey, roast beef, pepper bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on honey wheat bread.
- Club Stack – ham, turkey, Swiss cheese, pepper bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a harvest wheat bun.
- Reuben Super Stack – corned beef and turkey, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing on marble-rye bread.
According to USA Today, Arby’s hopes its brand relaunch, ad campaign and social media campaign coupled with their new website look, will “burnish consumer perception and boost sales”.
