Beef export sales 38 percent higher led by Japan and Mexico
Beef export sales were 6,493 metric tons higher last week led by shipments to Japan (4,200 MT) and Mexico (4,100 MT). Vietnam, South Korea and Canada also contributed to the United States’ higher export sales. Beef export sales last week were only 1,164 MT below the 27-week high.
Beef export shipments also improved over the previous week’s totals and reached a new 27-week high of 19,385 metric tons. Export shipments were primarily to Mexico (4,100 MT), Japan and Canada both received 3,300 MT.
