Beef net sales totaled 13,832 metric tons for the week ending June 30, down 12 percent from the previous week and down 40 percent from the 10-week high of 23,070 on June 16.
Beef net sales were primarily to Mexico (3,700 MT), Canada (3,000 MT), Russia (2,600 MT). Beef exports also fell last week, down 83 metric tons to 15,634. Exports remain above the 27-week average, but are lower for the second consecutive week.
Mexico received the most shipments of U.S. beef last week, receiving 3,400 metric tons. Japan was close behind, receiving 3,200 metric tons, and South Korea and Canada received 2,300 MT and 2,200 MT respectively.
