On September 23, Sacramento will draw attention to its Farm-to-Fork week by driving cattle through town towards the Capitol.

The week-long event highlights Sacramento’s close proximity to fresh food, a feature that has prompted Sacramento’s mayor to claim the city as the Farm-to-Fork Capital of America.

The Sacramento Business Journal reports Mike Testa, senior vice president with the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau wants to draw attention to all the products the region produces, from vegetables and wine to cattle and lamb.

The cattle drive will draw people’s interest in the week which ends with a Festival and dinner on Sept. 28, served by local celebrity chefs.
