KLA and NCBA member Tom McDonald, the vice president of environmental affairs for JBS Five Rivers Cattle Feeding, recently was reappointed to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Farm, Ranch and Rural Communities Committee. This is McDonald’s third term representing feedyards and the beef industry in an advisory capacity to EPA.
McDonald is an active member of NCBA’s Environmental Working Group. His appointment plays a valuable role in providing information and guidance to EPA and serves to inform beef industry leadership and policy makers of the direction and intentions of EPA on certain regulatory issues.
The committee provides independent policy advice, information and recommendations to the EPA administrator on a range of environmental issues important to agriculture and rural communities. Committee members include representatives of academia; industry; and state, local and tribal governments.
