A paraglider charged with criminal trespass for taking photos of a Kansas feedlot in late June is scheduled to appear in court at the end of August.
The photographer, George Steinmetz, was flying over Brookover Ranch in Garden City, Kan. on assignment for National Geographic magazine. Steinmetz and his paragliding instructor, Wei Zang, were charged last week for trespassing according to the Hutchinson News.
Finney County Attorney Susan Richmeier says the charges focus on the landowner’s right to privacy and control over owned property.
Steinmetz was taking photos for a series about food scheduled to publish by National Geographic in 2014.
