The Great Plains economy has fared better than most of the country throughout the recent economic turmoil, and at least one expert expects that to continue.

Joel Kotkin will speak at the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce's Economic Outlook luncheon on Tuesday.

Kotkin will focus on the resurgence of the Plains and why it's likely to continue.

The strength of agriculture has helped keep the Plains economy stronger than much of the rest of the country. Nebraska continues to have one of the nation's lowest unemployment rates at 4.2 percent in October.
