Juniors exhibit champions at Western Regional Junior Angus Show

Junior Angus members traveled to Reno, Nev., to compete in the 2012 Western Regional Junior Angus Show, April 21. Kurt Thomas, Wolfforth, Texas, evaluated the 103 owned females, 28 bred-and-owned females, 17 bred-and-owned bulls, seven steers and four cow-calf pairs before selecting champions.

JanLee Rowlett, Hurricane Mills, Tenn., led the grand champion owned female, T Bar T Royal Lady 230W. The November 2010 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682 first won senior calf champion.

EXAR Forever Lady 1414 won reserve grand champion owned female for Sydney Schnoor, Chowchilla, Calif. She’s a January 2011 daughter of Dameron First Class, and first won early spring calf champion.

Katy Satree, Montague, Texas, showed the grand champion bred-and-owned female that also claimed junior champion. DAJS Martha 824 is a June 2010 daughter of DAJS Gladiator 287.

R&L CH Miss Q9 0069 captured reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female. Cale Hinrichsen, Westmoreland, Kan., showed the November 2010 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682 that first won intermediate champion.

Jackson Wingert, Ottawa, Kan., showed the grand champion cow-calf pair. McCurry Miss Wix 9081 is an October 2009 daughter of Marands M-W Assassin 518. A September 2011 heifer calf sired by S A V Final Answer 0035is at side.

Katelyn McCoy, La Grande, Ore., led the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. McCoy Anita 503 is a January 2005 daughter of B A R Ext Traveler 205. A September 2011 heifer calf sired by S A V Brilliance 8077 completes the winning pair.

DAJS Authentic 442 received grand champion bred-and-owned bull for Satree. He is a March 2011 son of S A V Brilliance 8077.

Avery Bates, Manhattan, Mont., showed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. SSCO Dateline TwentyTen X003 is a January 2010 son of W M R Dateline 210.

DAJS Mr Angus 620 received grand champion steer honors for Satree. He’s a July 2011 son of DAJS All Star M243.

Clayton Stevenson, Brenham, Texas, showed the reserve grand champion steer. Garrens Burn Notice 107 is a May 2011 son of Garrens Burn Notice 700.
