Oil prices climbed to near $83 per barrel as a volatile week for crude ended with news of a burst of hiring in the U.S.
Here's a breakdown of how energy contracts traded Friday.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange:
Crude rose 39 cents to end at $82.98 per barrel.
Gasoline lost 3.84 cents to finish at $2.6476 per gallon.
Heating oil fell less than a penny to end at $2.8588 per gallon.
Natural gas lost 11.7 cents to finish at $3.481 per 1,000 cubic feet.
On the ICE Futures exchange in London:
Brent crude rose15 cents to end the day at $105.88 per barrel.
