Agricultural communities across Kansas and Missouri can help each other with an online tool designed to combat livestock and equipment theft.

The Theft Reports of Agricultural and Construction Equipment (T.R.A.C.E.) program was established in response to the rise in cattle and agricultural equipment thefts occurring across Missouri and Kansas. Southwest Missouri has been dealing with cattle rustlers for over a year and rustling is becoming more common in Kansas as well.

The T.R.A.C.E. program encourages residents to report a theft from a farm or construction sites with items ranging from cattle to copper or equipment. When a crime is reported to the site, participants receive an email describing the items stolen in their community. Thieves are more likely to be caught with increased awareness among law enforcement and the community.

If you are an agriculture producer, livestock owner, farmers’ cooperative, implement dealer, construction business or insurance company and would like to register for the program, you can register here online.
