August may mean back to school madness for many families. But for the Peterson Brothers and other farm families, it’s another month of hard work.

Peterson Farm Bros: Staying busy during rainy AugustIn their latest installment of the “Life of a Farmer” video series, the farming trio shows what it takes to keep a ranch thriving, even if Mother Nature complicates work.

“August began the same way July ended – lots of rainy days. We had to spend the first two weeks of August out of the fields waiting for them to dry out. This meant we had to find other jobs for us to do,” the farming trio said.

From cleaning bunks to replacing concrete in a trench silo, chopping alfalfa hay to beginning to harvest corn silage, the brothers point that “it really does feel good to put in a hard day’s work.”

Since skyrocketing to fame with their first hit, “I’m Farming and I Grow it” in June 2012, information videos and music parodies have been seen more than 25 million times on YouTube. They have not only helped bridge the gap between consumers and producers but have also become the faces of agriculture. The brothers have been featured at agriculture fairs and shows across the country and world, including the upcoming Farm Science Review on Sept. 17 at Ohio State University.  See more here.

After their traveling commitments slow down, the brothers hope to release more pro-agriculture parodies in the near future.
