WSMV reports a cattleman faces 75 days in jail and a $100,000 fine for animal cruelty charges after police found hundreds of starved cows on his land.
John Thomas of Bedford County, Tennessee pleads guilty to animal cruelty charges. Along with the fine and jail time, Thomas is not allowed to own cattle for the next five years. The charges were filed after police found starving and dead cattle on Thomas’ land in February 2009.
