A private pesticide applicator license training will be offered Oct. 9 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Potter County, located at 3301 E. 10th Ave. in Amarillo.

The training session begins at 9 a.m., according to Nathan Carr, AgriLife Extension agent for Potter County. The three and a half hour training will provide information needed to take the private applicator license test, which will be administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Cost of the training is $60 and all materials will be provided, Carr said. He said anyone in the Texas Panhandle is encouraged to participate if they need a private pesticide applicator license. The license is for agricultural producers and landowners who apply restricted use pesticides on their property.

Those planning to attend are asked to call Carr at 806-373-0713 by Oct. 7 to reserve a seat.
