Joseph Glauber, chief economist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will present “Crop Insurance and the World Trade Organization” Feb. 12 as part of a seminar series sponsored by Ohio State University’s Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics (AEDE).
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Agricultural Administration Building, 2120 Fyffe Road, on Ohio State’s main campus in Columbus.
As USDA’s chief economist, Glauber is responsible for the organization’s agricultural forecasts and projections and for advising the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture on economic implications of alternative programs, regulations and legislative proposals. Glauber is also the author of numerous studies on crop insurance, disaster policy and U.S. farm policy.
