On Thursday, Tom Vilsack stated that he doesn’t plan to leave his position as the head of the Agriculture Department. Attorney General Eric Holder, however, said he was stepping down from his position. Now Vilsack and Arne Duncan, education secretary, are the last two original cabinet members in the Obama administration, Christopher Doering reported for The Des Moines Register.

"At this point and time unless the president has different thoughts about this, I'm keeping the job I got because I'm not sure I can get another one," Vilsack said.

Many rumors about Vilsack’s future are circling, including that he might be a vice presidential candidate in 2016 and that he could run for Tom Harkin’s open Senate seat.
