AMI: Senate Passes Food Safety Modernization Act
The U.S. Senate today passed S. 510, the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, by a vote of 73-25.
The House late last year passed its version of the food safety bill, H.R. 2749, Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009. Generally, a conference between the House and Senate would be held to resolve the difference between the two versions of the bill.
