The move is part of a court settlement with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), the Sierra Club and the Waterkeepers Alliance.

A systematic review of the available published literature finds that no evidence exists to show health benefits or harm from consuming organic foods.

The review, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, is an examination of peer-reviewed literature spanning the last 50 years that was conducted by researchers at the Nutrition and Public Health Intervention Research Unit, Department of Epidemiology and Population Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Health.
