In the Final Four showdown with the Louisville Cardinals this Saturday, Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer is betting a spread of premium Kansas beef on his local university.

Brewer has agreed to a friendly wager against Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer with the losing party handing over items made in its home state. If Louisville wins, Brewer will ship a basket of top-quality steaks from Wichita-based Cargill Beef. KWCH 12 reports the basket will include a selection of Cargill’s Sterling Silver premium filet mignon, New York strip and boneless ribeye steaks along with a case of Brewer’s Best Bar-b-que Sauces (mild, hot and sweet).

If the Wichita State basketball team wins Saturday, Fischer will send a fully-stocked bar of Kentucky bourbon including Woodford Reserve, Maker’s Mark, Wild Turkey, Jim Beam, Four Roses, Evan Williams and Town Branch along with some shirts, hats, bourbon candles and glasses.

The wager was set on a phone call between the mayors Thursday.

The Wichita State Shockers play the Louisville Cardinals in Atlanta on Saturday, April 6 at 5:05 PM Central.
