A survey of cattle-industry leaders suggests the average price for cash cattle will decrease $1.41 to $115.38 per cwt this week.

The Monday Market Sentiment is a forecast of the upcoming weekly cash trade (5-Area weighted average price) prices reported by the USDA. This week prices decreased for the second time in the past three weeks. Last week the USDA announced the cash trade for the week ending May 1st was $116.79 an 18 percent increase from last year.

Cattle futures fell to six-week lows on Monday which may lead to lower prices this week. Showlists are up in the north, but down in the south.
