USDA: Frozen beef supplies up 2% from 2011

According to the latest Cold Storage report, total red meat supplies in freezers were down 2 percent from the previous month but up 14 percent from last year.

Total pounds of beef in freezers were down slightly from the previous month but up 2 percent from last year.

Frozen pork supplies were down 4 percent from the previous month but up 24 percent from last year. Stocks of pork bellies were up 22 percent from last month and up 119 percent from last year
