The federal Arthropod-Borne Animal Disease Research Laboratory, currently located in Laramie, Wyo., will move to Manhattan, Kan., according to the McPherson Sentinel.

U.S Senator Sam Brownback (R-Kan.) is quoted in the article praising the Agriculture Appropriations Conference Committee for funding the relocation. Manhattan, of course, is the proposed location for the National Agro and Bio Defense Facility that would house research programs into infectious animal diseases.

The Conference Committee, according to the article, is reconciling the House and Senate versions of the Agriculture Appropriations bill, and included $1.5 million for the cost of relocating the facility.
