“It’s and Jennifer Fearing is beginning another day as the rising star of California’s animal protection movement,” according to a recent story in the second-largest metropolitan newspaper in the United States.

Fearing was profiled in a recent L.A. Times article that threw accolades left and right about her role in managing the Proposition 2 campaign that banned specific types of animal housing, most notably battery cages for poultry.  According to the article, she is a vegan, animal-rights activist with a Republican background and now considers herself an Independent.  According to the article, “leaders of the state’s agriculture industry aren’t accustomed to losing.” Fearing is credited with many of the “bare-knuckle” strategies that helped propel Proposition 2 to victory and appears to be working hard to drive additional animal-rights initiatives in the state.
