Amarillo Livestock Auction Summary, Amarillo, TX - 5/07/2012 

Cattle and Calves: 1321     Week Ago: 696    Year Ago: 1479

   Compared to last week: Comparable sales of 7 weight heifers sold 2.00 higher.  
Not enough sales last week to trend other feeder cattle however a higher 
undertone noted.  Offering included several runs of black and red hided 
yearlings weighing 600-800 lbs.  Trade and demand were moderate.  Slaughter 
cows and bulls were steady to firm.  Slaughter cows consisted of 5 percent of 
the offering, slaughter bulls less than 1 percent, replacement cows 1 percent 
and 93 percent feeders.  Feeder supply included 49 percent steers and bulls, 
51 percent heifers.  Approximately 71 percent of the run weighed over 600 
lbs.

   Steers: Medium and Large 1 few 388 lbs 215.00; 600-700 lbs 162.25-166.75; pkg 
760 lbs 151.00; few 805 lbs 142.75.
   Medium and Large 1-2  few 472 lbs 180.00; few 530 lbs 178.00; 600-700 lbs 
155.50-160.00; 700-800 lbs 147.75-158.50; few 900 lbs 128.50.
