Amarillo Livestock Auction Summary, Amarillo, TX - 02/11/2013
Cattle and Calves: 1702 Week Ago: 704 Year Ago: 439
Compared to last weeks limited test: Feeder steers and heifers were weak to
2.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves were mostly steady. Trade activity was
fairly active on moderate to good demand especially on conditioned calves that
were available in the offering. Several inches of snow on Tuesday and the
moisture is much needed. Slaughter cows sold 2.00-4.00 higher and slaughter
bulls 1.00-2.00 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 4 percent, 2 percent
replacements and 94 percent feeders. Feeder supply included 66 percent steers
and bulls, 34 percent heifers. Approximately 67 percent of the run weighed over
600 lbs.
Steers: Medium and Large 1 few 268 lbs 221.00; 300-350 lbs 213.00-221.00;
400-425 lbs 191.00-203.00; 450-500 lbs 184.00-192.00; 500-550 lbs 172.00-184.75;
few 644 lbs 151.00; few 761 lb calves 135.00; 850-900 lbs 132.75-134.25.
Medium and Large 1-2 lot 459 lbs 173.00; lot 527 lbs 162.50; few 610 lbs
