Amarillo Livestock Auction Summary, Amarillo, TX - 03/18/2013
Cattle and Calves: 1892 Week Ago: 847 Year Ago: 1273
Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to 2.00 lower.
Calves not well tested. Trade activity was fairly active on good demand.
Offering included many loads of yearlings coming off of local wheat pastures.
Warmer temperatures have come into the area for the week. Slaughter cows and
bulls were mostly steady on a light test. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 3
percent, 2 percent replacements and 95 percent feeders. Feeder supply consisted
of 49 percent steers and bulls, 51 percent heifers. Approximately 89 percent of
the run weighed over 600 lbs.
Steers: Medium and Large 1 few 522 lbs 160.00; lot 598 lbs 149.00; lot 686
lbs 142.50; 700-750 lbs 137.50-141.50; 750-800 lbs 133.50-134.75; 800-900 lbs
