Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 11/30-12/7/2012
Confirmed: 4536 Last Week: 4517 Last Year: 2536
Compared to last week: Feeder steers mostly steady. Feeder heifers steady to
1.00 lower. Demand remains good for the limited numbers of feeder cattle. A
cold front is pushing in this weekend with possibilities of flurries and
freezing rain. Wheat pastures continue to stress due to the lack of moisture.
Supply this week included 83 percent over 600 lbs and 43 percent heifers.
Unless otherwise stated prices are FOB weigh point with a 2-3 percent
shrink or equivalent and with a 5-10 cent slide on calves and 3-6 cent
slide on yearlings from base weights. Current sales up to 14 days for
delivery.
