Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 12/21-28/2012
Confirmed: 861 Last Week: 7842 Last Year: 4145
Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers not well tested this
holiday shortened week. Demand remains good for light supplies. Cold
weather continues with few snow showers falling mainly in western and
southern Oklahoma. More moisture is expected in the form of cold rain
for New Year's Eve. Supply this week included 91 percent over 600 lbs
and 26 percent heifers.
Unless otherwise stated prices are FOB weigh point with a 2-3 percent
shrink or equivalent and with a 5-10 cent slide on calves and 3-6 cent
slide
on yearlings from base weights. Current sales up to 14 days for delivery.
