Oklahoma Direct Feeder Cattle Report
Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 12/28-01/04/2013
Confirmed: 1420 Last Week: 861 Last Year: 4449
Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers lightly tested,
limited sales 1.00-2.00 higher. Demand very good as cattle futures
made advances coming into the new year. Slaughter cattle prices on
the rise as well but at a snail's pace as cash prices lagging well
below the February board. Weather remains dry though some winter
storms moved thru the state over the holiday period limited moisture
was available. Supply this week included 100 percent over 600 lbs
and 28 percent heifers.
Unless otherwise stated prices are FOB weigh point with a 2-3 percent
shrink or equivalent and with a 5-10 cent slide on calves and 3-6 cent
slide on yearlings from base weights. Current sales up to 14 days for
delivery.
