Cattle and Calves: 1605       Week Ago: 1994        Year Ago: 2219     

   Compared to last week: A light test of comparable sales on steers under 
700 lbs and heifers under 550 lbs, however a higher undertone noted.  Feeder 
steers over 700 lbs and heifers over 550 lbs sold 2.00-4.00 lower.  Offering 
included a nice run of 5 weight weaned steers and heifers coming off of wheat 
pasture.  Chance of some much needed rain in the forecast for this afternoon.  
Trade was light to moderate on moderate demand.  A much higher undertone 
noted on slaughter cows and bulls compared to last week's extremely limited 
test.  Slaughter cows and bulls made up 4 percent of the offering, 
replacement cows 0 percent and feeders 96 percent.  The feeder supply 
consisted of 53 percent steers and bulls, and 47 percent heifers.  Near 62 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
