   Boxed beef cutout values lower on light to moderate demand and moderate 
offerings.  Select and Choice rib, chuck, round and loin cuts weak to lower. 
Beef trimmings higher on light to moderate demand and offerings.

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses DN 0.90 at 177.61; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
DN 1.36 at 175.30; based on 74.49 loads of Choice cuts, 44.53 
loads of Select cuts, 14.49 loads of Trimmings, and 21.09
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses DN 2.16 at 171.75; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses DN 2.39
at 168.81.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 150,846 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT 

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 171.30
UP 0.26.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE
   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
13.12, DN .01.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   Sales reported on 47.25 loads of pork cuts and NO loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Thursday's Close:   Fresh retail cuts steady;
sknd hams 20-23 lbs steady, 23-27 lbs mostly 4.00 lower; sdls bellies and lean
trimmings not established. Trading slow to moderate, with light to moderate
demand and offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **78.54 UP 0.39.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 120.00-122.00; Hams bone in trimmed, 
20-23 lbs trim spec 1 62.00.
