NATIONAL BOXED BEEF CUTOUT
   Boxed beef cutout values firm to higher on moderate demand and offerings. 
Select and Choice chuck, round and loin cuts firm while rib items steady to 
weak.  Beef trimmings higher on moderate to fairly good demand and moderate 
offerings.

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses up 1.81 at 178.51; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
up 0.57 at 177.33; based on 75.26 loads of Choice cuts, 57.35 
loads of Select cuts, 23.35 loads of Trimmings, and 15.95
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses up 1.17 at 172.16; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses up 0.55
at 169.75.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 183,573 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT 

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 73.07
dn 0.81.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE
   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
13.34, dn  0.08.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   Sales reported on 71.50 loads of pork cuts and 4.0 loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Thursday's Close:   Fresh loins steady to weak;
butts weak to 1.00 lower; sknd hams 23-27 lbs steady, other weights not tested;
sdls bellies 4.00-10.00 lower; lean trimmings steady. Trading slow to moderate,
with light to moderate demand and moderate offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **77.01 dn 1.81.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 117.00-122.00; seedless bellies 12-14 lbs
