   Boxed beef cutout values steady to firm on light demand and offerings.  
Select and Choice chuck and rounds firm, while rib and loins generally steady.  
Beef trimmings weak on light to moderate demand and offerings.

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.55 at 190.49; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
UP 0.13 at 187.34; based on 64.91 loads of Choice cuts, 47.78 
loads of Select cuts, 18.32 loads of Trimmings, and 45.03
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.17 at 179.14; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses DN 0.04
at 175.42.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 160,401 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT 

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 175.97
UP 0.49.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE
   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
13.61, UNCHANGED.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   Sales reported on 82.75 loads of pork cuts and 5.5 loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Tuesday's Close:    Fresh loins steady to weak;
butts mostly steady; sknd hams 1.00 higher; sdls bellies not tested; lean
trimmings steady. Trading slow, with light to moderate demand and offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **76.87 DN 0.75.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 115.00-122.00; Hams bone in trimmed, 
20-23 lbs trim spec 1 65.00.
