NATIONAL BOXED BEEF CUTOUT
   Boxed beef cutout values steady to firm on light to moderate demand and 
offerings. Select and Choice chuck round and loin cuts steady to firm while 
rib items firm on Select and weak on Choice.  Beef trimmings mostly steady on 
moderate demand and offerings.

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses dn 0.22 at 190.96; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
up 0.47 at 186.90; based on 104.75 loads of Choice cuts, 45.64 
loads of Select cuts, 19.91 loads of Trimmings, and 40.01
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses DN 0.16 at 176.78; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses UP 0.19
at 172.47.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 151,740 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT 

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 177.67
up 0.40.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE
   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
13.79, DN 0.01.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   Sales reported on 85.75 loads of pork cuts and 1.0 loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Wednesday's Close:  Fresh loins generally
steady; butts generally steady; processing cuts along with lean 
trimmings not tested. Trading slow to moderate with light to moderate 
demand and mostly moderate offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **78.10 DN 0.35.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 115.00-120.00.
