NATIONAL BOXED BEEF CUTOUT
   Boxed beef cutout values firm to higher on moderate demand and light 
to moderate offerings.  Select rib, chuck, round and loin cuts firm to 
higher, while Choice steady to firm.  Beef trimmings lower on moderate 
demand and moderate to heavy offerings.

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.34 at 190.82; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
UP 1.31 at 185.99; based on 83.44 loads of Choice cuts, 62.80 
loads of Select cuts, 12.74 loads of Trimmings, and 35.84
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.16 at 177.52; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses UP 0.64
at 172.32.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 166,407 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT 

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 178.08
UP 0.81.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE
   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
13.84, UP 0.02.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   Sales reported on 131.75 loads of pork cuts and 2.0 loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Monday's Close:  Fresh bone-in loins steady to
weak; butts steady; sknd hams not tested; sdls bellies 14-16 lbs 
steady to 2.00 higher; lean trimmings 4.00 higher. Trading moderate, 
with light to moderate demand and offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **78.87 UP 0.42.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 116.00-121.00; 
seedless bellies 12-14 lbs 85.00; 14-16 lbs 85.00-87.00.
