IMPORT BEEF TRADE

Compared to Last Week:  Market activity on imported beef was slow and
prices were mostly 2.00 to 4.00 higher on a light market test. Tight
nearby supplies continued to support import prices. The weakening U.S.
dollar and competition from other importing counties has severely
limited the amount of product available from Australia.
