IMPORT BEEF TRADE

Compared to Last Week:  Market activity on imported beef was moderate
and prices were firm to 1.00 higher. Tight import supplies, stronger
domestic lean prices and good demand supported prices. Most of the
New Zealand plants returned to their normal slaughter schedules but
some Australian plants were not at full capacity.
