IMPORT BEEF TRADE
Compared to Last Week: Market activity on imported beef was moderate
and prices were mostly steady to firm, with 95% generally steady and 90%
cow firm to higher. The drought in New Zealand has accelerated the cow
cull as feed sources and pastures have become scarce. The traditional bull
slaughter season wound down this week and supplies were tight.
