IMPORT BEEF TRADE

Compared to Last Week:  Market activity on imported beef was slow to
moderate. Prices were generally steady. Outfront sales were mostly
firm to 1.00 higher. Tight supplies and stronger demand continued to
support prices. Supplies from New Zealand were very light. The next
cow slaughter season starts in October but those supplies won't enter
the marketplace until early November.
