The national average cow price fell $2.40 in October to $53.00. The U.S. price has fallen for the third consecutive month and is now below the average price for the year. The national cow price remains $3.49 above the 27-month average and $12.60 above the 27-month low.

Retail Gasoline Prices Fall For Second Consecutive Week
The U.S. average gasoline price fell $0.01 to $2.81 per gallon this week. Gasoline prices have now fallen for two consecutive weeks, but still remain $0.06 above this year's average price. Gasoline prices fell $0.02 in the Lower Atlantic and Gulf Coast regions settling at $2.72 and $2.64 per gallon respectively.

Steer Prices By U.S. & State
U.S. average steer prices fell $1.40 to $97.90 per cwt last month. Montana steer prices remain the most expensive in the U.S. as prices increased $7.00 to $112.00 per cwt for October. Steer prices in Texas lost $2.30 falling to $97.70 per cwt, but remain $2.28 per cwt above this year's average price.

The U.S. average barrow and gilt price plunged by $4.10 to $57.20 per CWT this month, $1.59 above this year's average. South Dakota saw the largest drop as prices fell by $4.70 to $57.70.

Soybean Prices By U.S. & State
The U.S. average soybean price climbed by $0.72 last month to $10.70 per bushel, setting a new yearly high. Kentucky was again the biggest gainer of the month where prices increased by $1.21 to $11.00.

U.S. average calf prices climbed $1.00 to $118.00 per cwt. California calves climbed $4.00 to $120.00 per cwt. Prices in Texas fell $8.00 to $113.00 per cwt. Prices in Wisconsin remained the highest in the U.S. as prices climbed $2.00 to $139.00 per cwt.

U.S. sow prices dropped by $5.90 to $52.20 per cwt. Missouri posted the largest loss as prices decreased by $7.00 to $49.30, which is $1.88 higher than Missouri's average for this year.
